Application of electric precipitator to pleated filter cartridge in bag filter

According to the actual working conditions, the top and bottom of the filter cartridge can be made of rubber or carbon steel. The PulesPleat filter usually adopts 45 pleats. Of course, it can be redesigned according to specific needs. The standard pleated filter cartridge can be used up to 1300 °C. The special ThermoPleatTM has a maximum operating temperature of 2320 °C. The length and diameter of the filter cartridge are also varied to provide the correct filtration area, and there are many options for surface treatment of the filter cartridge. For example, the ePTFETEX diaphragm filter cartridge can increase the efficiency of filtration and collection. In the case of many electrostatic precipitators being changed to bag filters, we applied pleated filter cartridges to replace traditional filter bags and cages. The material of the Puiwei Pleed filter cartridge is a unique spunbond polyester continuous fiber filter material, which has a wide texture and is suitable for pleating. The inner core of the filter cartridge is generally provided with a polypropylene or mesh metal material.
Compared with the traditional filter bag, our Biwei pleated filter has three advantages: first, the dust collection efficiency, and the dust-removing efficiency of the spun-bonded polyester fiber filter to dust particles below 2 microns is 99.99%. The fiber can capture fine dust on its surface and block the dust particles from drilling into the filter material. Another property of the surface filter material is excellent in cleaning. The second advantage is that the pleated filter cartridge can provide a filter area 2 to 3 times higher than the same diameter filter bag, which means that even if the filter cartridge is made shorter, the same filter area can be obtained. Shortness can significantly reduce bottom friction. The "sedimentation zone" added to the lower part of the precipitator can effectively reduce the wind speed and cause some dust particles to fall into the ash bucket by gravity. The third advantage is that the Biwei pleated filter cartridge is extremely easy to install. The integrated filter element is free of accessories such as cages and venturi tubes. The top filter cartridge can be put into the hole from the clean air chamber. The use of a spring riser at the upper hole increases the tightness of the filter cartridge and the flower plate. In general, it takes more than a third to install the Biwei filter cartridge than the filter bag.
In summary, the use of the Biwei pleated filter cartridge to retrofit the electrostatic precipitator has brought great benefits to the user: the dust collection efficiency is greatly improved and the maintenance amount is significantly reduced. The retrofit of the electrostatic precipitator with a pleated filter cartridge proves that the GE Energy Environmental Services technology is quite mature, and it is very effective in reducing emissions and maintenance-free development of the dust collector.
The goal of retrofitting an electrostatic precipitator to a baghouse is to increase the efficiency of dust collection with a lower investment. It should be pointed out that the above transformation plan is only one of the various methods and measures for improving the operation of the electric dust removal system. For example, it is also possible to install a sonic horn to assist cleaning, to improve the type of polar line, to apply a spray humidification and tempering system, or to update an electronic control system. All of these methods help to make the old electrostatic precipitator work better. We advocate users to conduct feasibility study on a variety of transformation program measures, and it is best to make a preliminary project implementation research plan before deciding on the transformation plan.
